  Herring Sanitation came to our Marlboro home this March and installed a new septic system within a few days.
  
  There were a few difficulties with the project – in communications and expectations setting at the front – and in the execution. (It was found the area where we wanted to install the septic included some shale rock).
  
  However, despite the setback, the Herring team was very professional, spending the extra day to see through the issues and ultimately make the parts we purchased work for the job.
  
  Given how the team handled the changing situation and how they were able to stay within budget we would definitely consider using Herring again.

  We recently had to have some work done on our septic. It was a Friday afternoon after 4:00 when we realized we had a problem. I called and spoke with Jason who had someone to our house in 15 min. They did some digging and found the problem, did a temporary fix and put us on the schedule. Of course today was the day they came, it was freezing out!!! Two VERY nice workers came and made the permanent fix in no time at all. Both men where very polite and professional I was so comfortable having the guys do the work. Previously I had hired a different company for the inspection. However their report was a 1 line run-on sentence so that was a total waste of money. Within days, Herring sent out Alex and Ashlyn.   I used Herring on 11/23/2020 to pump out my septic system. Tom arrived from Herring Sanitation. He pumped out my septic and explained that septic needed to be backwashed due to tank sludge layer at bottom was very thick. When he was finished, I could actually see the bottom of the thank. He gave me a brief lesson on septic tanks and how to take care of it. When he was finished, my septic was running like it was new. Please note that my septic is 30 years old. The woman on the phone and I both laughed, but made the appointment for someone to come out on Tuesday the 6th - great fast service. They did such a good job in awful conditions (the heat with no shade). I felt badly for them but they did it with a smile and I was very thankful. Having the Septic tank put in is one of the least things you want to have to do (repair/replace) and there is nothing to look at when you’re done. But I was very happy with what they did for me. The girls in the office was the first thing that struck me. I called a couple other places first and decided I didn’t want to deal with them because they weren’t on the ball. But calling into Herring, Tina and a number of girls after that were all very nice and accommodating to what I was asking.   "Herring Sanitation Service" out of Fishkill, came to the rescue today. One of the owners, Jason, came by, was very honest and candid about what needed to be done and got the job done correctly. He knew we were in a very dire situation and didn't take advantage. Within an hour of our emergency call, he had a pump out truck here and followed up immediately with a camera inspection, excavator and at least 25-30 feet of new pipe, leading directly to the main tank. Everything was done correctly within a couple of hours and he didn't hit me over the head.. He was even nice enough to allow us to give him a couple of post dated checks to cover the other half of the invoice.. To me, that's someone who values their clients, especially being a small business owner myself...

  "We had been experiencing septic issues for MONTHS and had four companies out before finally discovering Herring. I called them on a Friday, Jason came out immediately, diagnosed our problem and work started on Monday. Incredible! Once we got started it became obvious (even to me) the issue was bigger than it seemed. The entire side of our tank had disintegrated (see pictures). Jason was able to arrange for an immediate utilities survey and obtain a tank the same day. Tuesday midday, we have a properly functioning septic system. The entire team was considerate and they left the job site in great condition.   Every person I spoke to at Herring from the beginning have been awesome. My fiancé & I just closed on our FIRST house a month ago and our septic failed on Sunday night. We were lost on who to call - so we immediately went to google/yelp/etc to look at local companies and find reviews. We are so happy we found Herring. The staff in the office were so easy to communicate with and were understanding of our situation (aka we new nothing about what was happening). From the guys who came to pump the septic to see if that was the problem, to John Herring who spent 3-4 hours in our basement working to discover a broken pipe, and including Jim Herring who stayed until 8:30 at night to fix our broken pipe as a temporary fix so we can use our house until we replace our tank, were nothing less than extraordinary and accommodating.   "We needed to have our septic pumped as part of our contract to close on the house we were selling in Hopewell Jct., NY. We called a company that was recommended to us, well first mistake, they showed up 4 hours late, only one person, he walked around the back yard sticking a digging bar in the ground in several places then he told us he could not locate it and quoted us an outrageous price to locate it and pump it. Ditto for the second company. We spoke to our Real Estate Agent and said we were calling Herring Sanitation, the reply was “Oh No, they look for problems to charge you more”. Well we called Herring anyway and it was the best call we ever made. We spoke to Sharon, explained the problem and she quoted us a price that would be no higher but could be lower. They went to our Hopewell Jct. House on Monday, found the septic tank and pumped it clean. They did and extraordinary job and we are very, very pleased.   "Our septic backed up into our finished basement through the laundry room and created an enormous disaster - our family is new to septic and were misinformed by another party on how often the tank needs to be pumped. Herring was here within an hour of the call to pump the tank, which they did very quickly, and the technician (Eric) was friendly and professional. The fee was very reasonable and I had no complaints.

  We unfortunately weren't able to clear the blockage (following his instructions, designed to save us a little cash), so we called again and they had someone out here to help in about an hour - again friendly, professional, and reasonably priced. I'm so grateful for the fast, efficient service, which I expected (given an emergency) to be very expensive and wasn't - Herring has a customer for life. I would recommend their service without reservation."

I have removed some of or most of the tree roots in the tank and am trying to stop the roots from reentering the tank through any openings.
