Recently, Herring upgraded our hydro jetting services by adding the Hot Drain Line Jetter to our fleet. This system has the hot jet advantage so it can handle grease, biofilm and soap scum with ease. In addition, it works well on cast iron piping, removing rust more completely than other units.

For years, septic companies have used cable machines and water jetters (hydro jetters) to unclog pipes. Technology has improved and at Herring, we have upgraded to hot water jetting (hydro jetting) , which is more versatile. Hot water Jetters (hydro jetters) allow pipes to be cleaned more effectively and stay clean longer than other options. Hot water jetters (hydro jetters) are more cost-effective and make the cleaning easier and faster with less mess.

The equipment is used in residential and commercial jobs. It is important not to hurt the pipes and to do this we use special engineered nozzles designed to scour the inside of the pipes.

Cable equipment is very effective at removing a clog, however, cabling can leave uncleaned surfaces. These uncleaned surfaces can lead to premature line buildup and blockage over time.

Cold water jetting (hydro jetting) also does an excellent job of flushing the lines. Larger water units move debris well and they have their place. The problem is cold water does not remove build up of grease, soap scum and cast iron pipe rust as effectively as hot water.

Hot water scours pipes and emulsifies grease and solid buildup inside pipes. Combined with a degreasing agent, it removes more grease buildup and blockage.

This machine was an investment for Herring. We chose to add the Hot Hydro Jetter to our fleet because it will handle jobs more quickly and efficiently. This helps us keep the costs down on our man hours and frequency of maintenance, all of which increase the cost of jobs. We felt the cost of the machine, while a substantial commitment to Herring, will provide benefits to our customers.
